Introduction

Islamic Publications established in 1959 as a (Private) Limited Company in Karachi. In 1961, the head office of the company was shifted to Lahore and shortly thereafter, extensive publishing work was started at 13E, Shah Alam Market, Lahore. Mian Tufail Mohammad and Chaudhry Ghulam Mohammad were among its founders. Mr. Ashfaq Mirza was in charge of the company for thirty years and expanded the company by making large investments.

When Ashfaq Mirza became very ill in August 1990, the responsibility of Managing Director was handed over to Ran Allah Dad Khan who, after seven years, resigned in October 1997 due to his other activities. Prof. Muhammad Amin Javed Sahib was appointed as the new Managing Director. On the illness of Prof. Muhammad Amin Javed, the responsibility was handed over to Mr. Abdul Hafeez Ahmed. After the death of Mr. Abdul Hafeez Ahmed in May 2015, Mr. Tariq Mahmood Zubair was appointed as the Managing Director.

Islamic Publications (Pvt) Ltd. is a lucky and unique publishing house which has the honor of publishing the works of the Islamic thinker Maulana Syed Abul Ali Maududi (may Allah have mercy on him). This historic award demands that for the revival of Islam, it will continue to strive to market this rare literature to the audience in accordance with modern requirements and will spare no effort in adopting the latest style of publication. At present, the total number of Urdu and English publications of Islamic publications is more than 700, with about 200 titles in English. In addition to the topics of Qur’anic exegesis, books of hadith, jurisprudence and history, ethics, society, education and training, interesting and useful books for children and women have also been presented. In addition, a beautiful da’wah set containing the books of Maulana Syed Abul-Ali Maududi has been compiled. The purpose of all these scholarly creations is to acquaint the people with the basic essential information of religion and its revolutionary spirit and to arouse the spirit of understanding and practicing the religious teachings.

The organization’s publications are being translated and published in various countries in many languages ​​of the world. In addition to the Arab countries, these include Malaysia, Japan, Korea, Turkey, Iran, Afghanistan, the newly independent Muslim states of Russia, Germany, France, Spain and the United Kingdom. In addition, translations of these books are being published in some African languages, which is a clear proof of the usefulness of these books and their extraordinary popularity in the scientific and religious circles.

Initially the headquarters of the company was located at Shah Alam Market, Lahore which has now been shifted to Mansura Multan Road Lahore.
